about

Cumha Coire an Easa is a lament for Robert MacAoidh by his harper / piper, composed about 1696. I only had the text and the pitches of the notes (no rhythm) from which to work so the interpretation is open to question. Of the many verses, I took only a few to focus more on the harper's story. It's title is Lament of the Cauldron of the Waterfall. It was thus recorded at a waterfall, the Falls of Machany. Additional vocals by Rena.
